The Brief
- Emergency restoration of critical school network operations.
- Resolution of network loops and connectivity failures.
- Complete overhaul of 10-year-old legacy hardware.
- Consolidation of network infrastructure across six cabinets.
- Professional testing and certification of 214 data points.
The Challenge
The school faced a total operational “blackout” following building works, where network loops and poor-quality remedial fixes by non-specialist contractors had crippled the system. The existing Fortinet infrastructure was over a decade old, leaving it unable to handle modern demands like Teams video calling.
We had to transition rapidly from emergency troubleshooting to a full-scale architectural rebuild, tidying “chaotic” cabinets and fixing substandard “cut and shut” cabling all while ensuring the school remained functional for staff and students.
The Result
AC Digital replaced the legacy system with a high-performance Ubiquiti UniFi ecosystem, integrating 12 managed PoE+ switches and 29 WiFi 6 access points.
We revitalized the site’s fabric by re-terminating patch cables, establishing fiber links between six cabinets, and testing 214 data ports. By identifying and fixing substandard cable repairs from previous vendors, we eliminated internal bottlenecks.
The result is a transparent, managed network that has tripled internal speeds and provided the school’s IT team with total site-wide visibility and remote monitoring.
