The Challenge
The primary challenge of this project was the timing; the building conversion was already in full swing by the time AC Digital Technology was brought on board.
This required an immediate and highly efficient design phase to ensure the “first fix” of cabling could be integrated without delaying the construction schedule. Furthermore, because the building is a large rural warehouse, we had to overcome potential signal interference and structural barriers to ensure consistent WiFi coverage.
We also had to design a logical network architecture that offered high-level security for seven different businesses sharing a single physical internet connection, ensuring total data privacy between tenants.
The Result
AC Digital successfully installed a fully managed Ubiquiti network, featuring a centralized firewall that segments the main connection into seven secure, private VLANs. By adopting a “WiFi-first” strategy, we eliminated the need for complex physical data points while maintaining the flexibility to scale the LAN in the future.
Tenants now enjoy the freedom to move between their offices and common spaces with seamless connectivity and zero reconfiguration costs when moving units. Additionally, we pre-installed shielded CAT6 cabling to facilitate a future Starlink installation, ensuring the site is ready for high-speed satellite internet. The entire system is now remotely monitored by our team, providing the client with complete peace of mind.
